Bootmgr is missing error

Thread needs solution

After my first restore on my new system I received the "BOOTMGR is missing" error on startup. I completed a second and a third restore with the same results.

I am unable to use the manufacturer's system restore and I receive the error message "The program cannot restore the system partition because its structure is incorrect. You may have to recreate the partition to continue."

I am using Acronis® True Image Home® version 11.0 (build 8,101) on my new Lenovo Ideapad Y550P Model name: 3241. Running Windows 7. I created a Acronis secure zone and completed a backup but the backup was saved to my desktop and not the secure zone. I did not have time to redo the backup so i copied it to a portable hard drive. Nonetheless the image was verified to be good.

Anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix my laptop? Do I need to purchase a windows 7 installation disk? Can I purchase a disk or get the files somewhere?

I was able to resolve this myself. I created an Windows Recovery disk using instructions from http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/
I then was able to have the repair done automatically.
