BSOD with Acronis True Image Universal Restore

Thread needs solution

HI,

I just restore an Image(.tib) with a restore CD that i created with Acronis Universal Restore. I ran the CD and go through the wizard without any problem. But i'm getting this Blue screen of death at reboot. Both computer have exactly the same hardware, 2 Dell Precision T3400. What's the problem ?
Thanks

Francois

Just taking a guess, but possibly the issue might be that the machine SIDs of the installed OS's are different even though both machines have identical hardware and software. Exactly what are the contents of the TIB file which you are trying to restore that came from one of the Dell machines and which you are trying to restore to the other Dell machine?

It contains a full image of the hard disk, OS included. Right now, my biggest problem is i'm unable to know if the image i created is OK. For the SID you're probably right but what's an image for if i cannot restore it anywhere ?

I finally restored my image by selecting -Last Known Good Configuration(your most recent setting that worked) instead of -Start Windows Normally at start-up ! Can't understand why, but it works.

Thanks
