bsod on config/software
Decided to renew my 40 Gb HD to 160 Hd with full clone of disk.
Using Acronis True Image 11 Home (trial-version) with windows 2000 sp4 with 40 gb of specific data I had a successfull clone with usb connection to the new harddisk.
Placing the new disk in my systeem and removing the old one windows boots correctly and loads the first flashscreen without no errors.
The second screen shows (on black background like in safe mode) Acronis True Image Home. From there I have an BSOD with error C0000128: %systemroot%/system32/config/software is not readable, does not excist or is damaged. I did not change the original files or what so they are the same as on the old disk and they always were working fine.
I did a chkdsk /r from the R console from the installationdisk without errors messages. If following instructions from MS I have to replace all systemfiles and renew theme with, I suppose, loosing all settings/passwords aso, so that's no option and not what I supposed ATIH can do for me in al later registered productversion.
Before I buy or have to replace the old disk (difficult: it's a shuttle with narrow space ) I want to know what can cause this error or is there any limitation in function (what I can see: NO) or what else.
I could not find any C0000128 STOP errors on this forum, so please can I get some support for this ?
thanks in advance

Hello ed,
Thank you for posting. I will do my best to assist you.
I would recommend to perform the cloning operation following the steps from the Knowledge Base article that you refer to.
Please make sure that you unplug the source hard drive after the cloning operation is complete to prevent issues with booting Windows.
If you still continue to experiencing problems, we offer 30 days trial technical support. Please check this article for instructions for contacting our Support team.
If you need additional help or have any other issues please let me know.
Thank you.

It's a Windows 2000 sp 4 and a 250 Gb Hdd (new)
I'm adviced to set the original windows registry to LBA48 for harddrives bigger then 138 Gb and do the cloning again within windows support of big harddrives.
My bios supports booting from usb.
I hope it's possible to connect my original HDD with usb (as c:\) and do the clone again to the new intern HDD
because
I still have the trial version with intention to buy when it all works
and useTrueImage as my ultimate backup prog. Is it ?
thanks in advance Anton !
