Bug: e-mail setup for backup notifications always get lost

Thread needs solution

Hi

one of (too) many bugs I recognized using ATIH 12:

On one machine, running W7 Pro 64b, I cannot store the e-mail notification setup for backups. I can configure my e-mail address, smtp server and so on, I even receive the test mail that I can send from there, then I close the dialog, save the backup configuration but after opening the options dialog again all e-mail settings are forgotten. It's annoying. Btw, I had a similar issue that I wasn't able to change the backup location (an UNC path) for an existing backup. My changes were simply ignored. Finnally I had to delete the configuration and to create it again - annoying, isn't it?

On another machine, running W7 HP 32b, the e-mail configuration was OK. But it's still annoying that these e-mail notifications have to be setup for each backup configuration separately on each client (yes, correct, that would be a product improvement).

And yes, of course, I installed the latest updates.

Yes, the lack of email notification re-display is a known problem. Fortunately, the email settings are saved in the task so notification can occur. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.

I have a related problem. I set up an hourly file backup task, and without thinking, filled in the notification settings. Now I want to turn off those annoying emails, but can't find any way to do that. Where is that info stored and how can I delete it?

Steven,
Use Notepad and edit your backup script
D2CA2128-4C5D-4C2E-92B9-FED25AB53B38
Look at the very bottom of this script and you will see your email address and "enabled=1"
Change the enabled to "enabled=0"

save the changes on the file.
