build 6514 boot media - no wireless keyboard or mouse for True Image 2013
Around April 2013 many users discovered wireless keyboard and mouse supports were broken in Built 6514 of the ATH 2013 boot media, . This was confirmed and fixed by Acronis as per Anton on post #46 of topic 41205 (http://forum.acronis.com/forum/41205), and a boot media built 6528 was available via chat. Subsequently (6/24) Acronis fixed and updated the boot media but kept the previous built number (6514). Unfortunately the fix only appeared in the .iso download but not in the latest built of the main program. This is important as the bootable media link is for iso image so one can burn a CD, while the main program allows creation of boot media for USB drive in addition to CD and there is a very good reason for this feature. Like many users with ultrabooks I don't have a CD drive and rely on USB bootable media. Please update the latest built of ATH 2013 built 6514 so that the users can create USB boot media directly from ATH 2013 within Windows with the wireless KB/mouse fix.

This tool does not work either. The "Acronis Rescue CD" in the drop down menu is for the outdated Acronis Antimalware iso. When I select the new build 6528 iso, all this program does is copy the 134 mb recovery folder to the usb drive. The original iso is 385mb, so you can see it is leaving out all of the important hidden files on the iso that make it function when burned to a cd. The resulting usb drive will not even boot on a mbr bios machine.

Retry again and follow this illustration.
The beow is an extract of link #@9 below.
Open your personal folder and download the file as a complete file which has the extension of .iso
Once you have the iso file on your computer, insert a new blank CD.
if using Windows 7, RIGHT click on the iso file name and choose the "open with" option and then select "Windows disk Image Burner" as the program to burn the image. If using Windows XP, you will need to use a program such as the free IMGBurn to burn the image onto the blank CD.
Once, you have the new CD burnt as an image, it becomes the new and latest version of the 2013 bootable media
Figure 7= To download the TrueImage bootable ISO file only, begin here.
A TI Recovery CD can be created from this iso file without the installation of the progam.

Hello Anna Trifonova,
Thank you for the update, and I appreciate your honesty.
Please keep in mind just a few months ago when I purchase TI2013 it was the latest and greatest.
I oversee an entire team of 200+ software and hardware engineers on embedded system developments and fully understand and appreciate the processes involved in qualifying a new built for release. What I have learned is that development is never "finished" and there are always new products we have to dedicate our resources to. That does not mean you leave the customer hanging with old bugs. TI2014 may be brand new today, but in 12 months TI2015 will be your focus and does that mean you leave bugs in TI2014 unattended? In my field we would have no customers left if we don't fix bugs, new or old.
Your workaround suggestion is appreciated. In fact seeing that there was no immediate answer from Acronis, I made a bootable USB using the new ISO image with another tool soon after making the original post. The fact that you have customer working around bugs in your product is no excuse to not fix the bugs of course, as there are other customers who may not be able to do this without assistance.
Keep up the good work, but release those bug fixes while the customers are still patient enough to suffer and wait around.
Regards,
George

Grover,
Your help is appreciated, but you missed the mark. Joey's issue is he can't create a bootable USB using tool per Anna's email. Joey has no problem burning an ISO image on a CD.

The tool Anna pointed to was (I believe) one of many that allow anyone to boot a PC from a USB stick, and load & run an Acronis bootable .iso file just as if it was on CD or created using Acronis desktop software. Other methods include XBOOT and YUMI and RMPrepUSB with Easy2Boot, etc. all of which I have used with Acronis.
Another method I really like is to install EasyBCD, which allows one to add an Acronis entry to the pre-Windows boot menu, selecting any Acronis bootable media .iso file from any accessible location e.g. typically a separate hard disk in a desktop PC, or a USB stick for a laptop or netbook (with or without a CD/DVD drive).

George,
This is the workaround I used in True Image 2013 to create functional usb media. First I uninstalled build 6514. After that I installed build 5551 and the secure boot hotfix. Then I used True Image build 5551 to create a usb recovery flash drive. Next, I used True Image to create a .tib image backup of the flash drive that can then be restored to any usb flash drive. Finally I updated the True Image Windows installation to build 6514 again.
I'm sure my workaround sounds ridiculous, but all my primary systems use uefi now, and the build 5551 usb recovery media is the only one that will boot and provide complete functionality in uefi mode. By imaging the build 5551 flash drive, I can now use True Image 2013 build 6514 in windows to create functional usb media by performing a recovery of its image to any usb drive. The one positive thing that came out of this mess is that I discovered I can also use this image to make all my external usb hard disk drives function as acronis bootable recovery media. Silver Lining.

Again the same problem here: the bootcd of Acronis True Image 2013 doesn't work with wireless mouse and keyboard from Logitech.
Is there a solution or do I have to buy me wired ones?
Thank you,
Willy

Try newly downloading the ATI bootable Rescue Media ISO (listed as Bootable Media) from your Acronis.com account. The web site lists it as the same build number as previously, but is actually newer build 6528. It fixes the wireless keyboard/mouse issue and the GPT disk issue. The fixes are only in the new build of the Rescue Media, as no new Windows version has been released.

Joey,
That is creative. Thanks. I just hope Acronis is able to fix bugs and *RELEASE* the software in a timely matter.
