build 6525 hangs with 1min left to go

Thread needs solution

I've used acronis for years with no problems. The 2015 version hangs for me at the end of every backup. The program is still running but it says 1min to go and never finishes even if left over night.

I tried backing up to a different USB 3 disk. I tried plugging the disk in to a different port. I tried uninstalling acronis, downloading the latest and installing.

The backup (after forcing a power cycle) does seem to be there ok. I am backup a 1TB ssd drive with a full backup (no options) to a 4GB external USB hard disk.

I tried regular support but they seem to want $20 send in a report that it hangs...

I ran ccleaner which didn't help. I have few programs installed. I am up to date win 8.1 with all patches. Kaspersky AV current version, disabling it doesn't help. Virus scan is ok, I have not had an infection.

Any suggestions?

The only suggestions I can give is to make sure your hardware is up to date, bios, USB drivers, chipset, etc. Many users report problems with Win 8.1, USB connected drives, and Acronis TI. For myself I have found that not having the latest hardware updates including firmware revisions was the solution.
