Can I display the filenames of full backups that ATI 2015 is tracking?

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I'm doing full backups of my Windows 8.1 laptop using ATI 2015 Build 6525. About two months ago a full backup failed because I didn't have enough free space on my external hard drive. I forgot to delete some data I was moving to another PC. The failed backup created file ASUS Full Backup_full_b17_s1_v1.tib, which is 348,160 KB. I deleted the extra data off the external drive and reran the backup. This run was successful and created file ASUS Full Backup_full_b17_s1_v1-2.tib.

Last week during the full backup run the ASUS Full Backup_full_b17_s1_v1-2.tib file was deleted as part of the automatic deletion, but I still have the full_b17_s1_v1.tib file on my external hard drive. It doesn't appear the ATI 2015 is aware of this file because the date of the backup doesn't display in the Backup Versions when I select Recover Files to determine what backups are available. Is there another method to display what backups ATI is tracking? If ATI is aware of this file, how do I delete it because it is useless? If ATI isn't aware of the file, I assume I can delete it with Windows Explorer. Thanks in advance for your help.

There is no easy method to see which files ATI is tracking. You visually inspect the archives.db file in c:\programdata\Acronis\TrueIMageHome\ "open with" this file with Notepad for example. Be careful not to make changes.

In general when ATI adds a dash followed by a numeral to a backup name, there is an issue with the chain, and the previous file is not valid any longer.

To test, you can temporarily move a file to another directory, and then validate the backup.

Pat,
I found the archives.db file in folder Database within TrueImageHome. A search using Notepad did not find a reference to full_b17_s1_v1.tib, so I'll delete it using File Explorer. Thanks for your help.
