Can I take an Entire image of Hard disk

Thread needs solution

Hello ,
Let me get straight to the question.

I have a system with windows xp , installed in it . The C drive has around 30 apps installed in it . The desktop has like 20 icons , and there are around 5 network drives mapped to it.

Now suppose my C drive gets affected by a virus or I would have to format the hard disk , I would have to re-install all my apps and configure them again , and sometimes the setups are in another partition , like d drive .

Now the question here is , Can I use Acronis software to take the entire image of my system ( ALL THE DRIVES INCLUDED) and save the image in a usb hardisk and restore the entire system to the original rollback point , exactly as it was before??

If yes , what is the application name and version .

And could someone tell me how to this process can be done in brief ?

Yes. Acronis True Image can do this. Perform a disk image back up which will allow you to restore an entire disk to a specific point in time. Suggest you buy 2013. Use the "Grovers True Image Guides" located to the left under useful links for easy to follow instructions.

You can make an image of each hard disk (i.e., physical drive) regardless of whether any of the harddisks is formatted as one or more drives (i.e., logical drives or partitions) -- you need to backup each harddisk individually. Trust me, It would too easy to get mixed up when it's time to restore if you had multiple harddisks in one giant backup image.

Because you might not know that your disk had, say, a virus, when you backed it up, it's a good idea to have more than one backup of each harddisk so you have a choice when you restore of how far back you can go.
