alv:

I have not read a single word about TI backing up to a tape drive. I think this results from the fact that TI seems to back-up in a linear mode but restores in an entirely different order. A tape drive would go nuts.

You could backup to a hard drive and then archive that large TIB file(s) to a tape which would allow you to delete the archive from your hard drive. Restore would be the reverse of this.

I don't recommend it.

Hello alv and Fungus,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Unfortunately, current versions of our Home software, including Acronis True Image Home 2009 and the latest version do not support tape drives. Such drives are supported by Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

Thank you.
