Can not create new folder on external drive in bootable media

Thread needs solution

Okay, so I'm using the TI 2014 bootable media. I've got a laptop with its hard drive and an external drive. I go to backup > entire disk and I try to select a destination on the external drive. But I don't get an option to create a folder on that drive like I have in previous versions. This is ridiculous. The backup seems to work fine when I save to the root.

Yes, this option has been removed from the current version of the 2014 Recovery CD.
Acronis has indicated they hope to return this feature in some future release as per link above.
Unfortunately, this means you have to create your intended new folder in advance of the backup.

If using WinPE or MustangPE, the option continuues to exist as those CD's are Windows based.

I use MustangPE myself but it does require the Plus or Premium version.

This is a feature now? One that they used to have and now lost due to all of the (sarcasm) overwhelming(/sarcasm) changes they made in 2014? Ugh.

I believe the reason it was dropped was due to some problems Acronis found (I don't have the post to hand as I type this), so they removed it temporarily and intended to put it back once they'd solved the problem. I don't recall what the problem was, I'll have to find the original post.

Thanks for the information guys, now I know that it's Acronis and not unique to my setup. I've been frustrated with Acronis on several fronts recently, so my exasperation has been building up.

Hello Everyone,

I'm glad to let you know that "create new folder" was returned and you can see it, if you create a bootable media with build 6614.

Thank you for your patience!
