Can run but can't save backups

Thread needs solution

Some time ago I successfully created and saved 3 disk and file backups. Now I'm trying to create a 4th (file) backup, using Acronis 2013 Build 5551. I entered all the parameters, then chose to run "Later". However the backup wasn't saved. I tried again twice, choosing run in 1 hour, then run now. In the latter case, Acronis ran the backup but in neither case did it save it. What's wrong?

Also, there is no "Save" button on the "Configure file backup process" window, leaving me to wonder how one is to save a backup - just click the "X" to close the window? Rather strange!

When you create a file backup task (or a disk or partition backup). Whether you run it now or run later, the task is saved and visible on the main program--same as any of the other tasks. If you selected on a single folder to be backed up, the name of the task will probably be that folder name. On the main page of the program under the"backup and recovery header", you should find a listing of all your tasks but you may have to scroll up and down in order to see all listed. See attachment.

After you have created the task initially, alll you need to do is to use the "Run now" option from the specific task.

Thanks, GroverH - you jogged my memory! The problem was that when I set up the original backups some time ago, I'd opted to show "favorite backups" only. I'd forgotten that I'd done this when I created the new backup, so it didn't show up because it wasn't marked as a "favorite". (It would be better, at least for people like me, if Acronis automatically marked a new backup as a "favorite", which the user could then unmark as desired.)

The "Favorites" issue has bitten quite a few folks on the Forums. I think Coffent's suggestion to automatically mark a new job as a "Favorite" is spot on.
