Can TIH 2010 and 2011 co-exist?

Thread needs solution

I am currently using TIH 2010, but would like to "try out" TIH 2011, before buying the upgrade. Can this be done. Can I install 2011 without interfering with the existing 2010 installation? If I make backups with 2011, will 2010 be able to read them?

Finally does 2011 fix any significan issues that are present in 2010, e.g., bugs related to reading Archives.xml, makeing "generations" of archives (I currently use Chain2Gen) and until this morning it had worked perfectly...).

Should I even bother to upgrade?

Thank yoou,
Jim

Jim,

TI 2010 and TI 2011 can't both be installed at the same time.

TI 2010 won't work with TI 2011 images. TI 2011 should work fine with TI 2010 images.

As for fixes, it really depends. You may want to read some on the forum and see if any problems you've had appear to be fixed and what new problems are present.

If you want to try it, I would suggest you create a current backup of the Windows partition (if you don't already have one) and then you can uninstall TI 2010 and install TI 2011. If you don't like it or it has too many problems, restore the TI 2010 image.
