Can TrueImage backup to a networked PC?

I have a desktop PC connected via router to my main machine laptop. Have been trying to backup the laptop to the Desktop with no luck -- Acronis can see the desktop but keeps telling me the path isn't valid. I have admin read/write capabilities on both machines -- and successfully connected to the desktop using my user name and password.

Is this possible? In looking through the Acronis help, I see that it supports backup on networked servers and NAS. Shouldn't the desktop PC look like NAS to Acronis?

Note that I'm trying this since the backups I'm writing to a USB external drive can't validate -- and the knowledge base hasn't been a help with that, so I decided to abandon the external drive idea and try to backup to the desktop pc instead.

Doesn't seem to be able to. I had a similar issue between two Win 7 machines, and never got it resolved. Seems like it should be a pretty basic thing for a premium program, but I guess not...
