I have used the WD edition for years to make regular clones as backup for my WD 500GB HD.

Yesterday I started a cloning operation over USB rather than eSata (went to bed and woke up this morning) and at the present rate it looks as if the operation will not be complete for another 4 days !!!

Is there any way I can halt the operation safely and restart over the normal eSata connection?

I assume turning the PC power off is not an option but I can turn the power off on the backup drive because it is external, is that a possibility?
