Cannot access original backup 0x65E40AA0B48715D

Cannot access original backup 0x65E40AA0B48715D
For three months I have been successfully backing up my C and D drives to an Acronis partition on an external drive without incident. However, for the last few days I have been getting error "Cannot access original backup (0x65E40AA0B48715D)". Probably one way to fix this would be to delete the Acronis Secure Zone, re-create it, and start a new backup series. However, this would erase all of my daily backups stretching about a month and a half in the past.
Any ideas?

Problem was solved by unplugging the external drive and powering back up. The relate message was "Cannot backup because your external drive is not accessible".
