Cannot Back-up. WriteNoFileCache error - New computer Win7x64

Thread needs solution

Computer is less than a year old. Win7x64. SD drive and a regular hard drive. Purchased the ATIH product and want to back up the computer to an external hard drive on the network.

Getting several error messages:

Error occurred while writing the file. (0x40003)
function = "WriteFileNoCache"
Tag = 0x7CEB2CDC9FB121D3
The specified network name is no longer available (0xfff0)
code = 80070040)
Tag = 0xBD28FDBD64EDB8BC.

The back-up process lasts about 90 minutes and then states "terminated" by user. (Which I did not)

I have tried to research this out, looked and looked everywhere, and I am really confused and somewhat frustrated. I find this product terribly confusing. It has to be one of the most complex programs I have ever used. All I wanted to do was back up the computer as I have had my share of crashes and lost everything. I thought this was going to be simple.

If anyone could shed a little light I would be EXTREMELY thankful !!

When you backup to an external drive on the network, it is better to use the full network path when you indicate where to backup. From the error, it looks like ATi is losing the connection. Maybe the drive goes to sleep, maybe there is some network interruption.

More importantly, if you back up to a network, you need to make sure you can access the storage from the recovery CD. Boot the computer on the recovery CD and verify you can access that remote disk. Otherwise, you won't be able to restore your computer if your disk dies, unless you can hook your comptuer to the remote network via USB.
