Cannot create equal-sized partitions (True Image WD Edition)
I have used True Image WD Edition at least a dozen times to create partitions on various hard drives. Most have been 2 TB WD drives that I split into two partitions of 1 TB each. Normally I'd create one partition of 931 GB, then another that's ~ 930 GB.
I'm trying to do the same with a 4 TB My Passport drive that has been reformatted (no data).
TI sees it as 3.639 TB; so I'm trying to split into two ~ 1.81 TB partitions.
Using the slider on the right, the largest it lets me make the first partition is 1.639 TB, leaving 2 TB. (It's not letting me split it in half.)
Trying to change the partition size in the table doesn't work either: If I make it 1.81, as soon as I click into the partition label field the value jumps back to 3.639.
If anyone can assist I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Hello Steve, Thanks for your reply.
It's GPT.
What's weird is it'll let me make it 3.639 TB (one partition) or 1.639 TB + 2.0 TB (two partitions).

David, personally I have never used the Add new disk tool in the way you are using as my normal approach is to simply set the drive as either MBR or GPT then leave the drive with no partitions, as the first step by ATI for any disk recovery is to wipe all existing partitions then recreate those that are needed per the data in the backup image being restored.
Otherwise, I would recommend that you download a copy of the free MiniTool Partition Wizard software and use this to setup your partition sizes, as this is a much easier tool to use for that purpose.

Thanks, Steve. I have a big system with a lot of data and backup drives. I've been creating separate partitions in True Image for years, but never for a drive more than 2 TB. I was surprised at the hiccup.
I downloaded the MiniTool. Thanks!
