Cannot do a restore

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis TI home 2011 on my Dell with Windows 7. I have been doing full backups every month, but never had the need to do a restore until now. I boot from the recover disk I created on 9/29/11. It is Build 6942, Update 3. It appears I am not doing something correct in the startup of the restore process. I have done a validation of the file on the external drive, and it is ok. I seem to have a problem stepping through the restore wizard options for the restore to start. Are there any step by step instructions on how to select the destination files?
I wanted to restore the Recovery, the OS (C), and the unnamed file. I also had the option to select the Boot record (MBR). It kept taking me back to changing my destinations.
I never did get the restore to work.

Charles,

Step by step instructions can be found here: Grover's Guides

Charles,
If you followed my suggestion at this link last year

You should be able to restore following the instructions at link #3 below and use item #2.

I had my entire c drive wiped clean as the result of an unknown failure. I have restored my system 7 software and my email but when I go to restore my c drive from my backup files I am nowhere. System recovery won't open the files and my original software was wiped so how do I restore the drive from backup?
