Cannot exclusively access destination
I have a Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) O.S. I have True Image 2013. My backups fail because Acronis cannot exclusively access my network drive where I put my secondary backup location. Help.

Hi Brannon,
Are you able to validate these back ups, including the reserve copy? If you have the locations configured as mapped drives, please delete and recreate them. You can also try using a UNC path.

Do you mean delete and re-create my mapped drives? I've installed the Acronis upgrade for my 2013 product. I'm still getting errors reading that my back-up location cannot be exclusively accessed.

Hi Brannon,
This issue can have more than one cause. What we often see are back up tasks that do not get correctly updated during an upgrade or one or more .tib files in a back up chain are corrupt.
If your mappings are working, then the recommended fix is to delete, then recreate your back up tasks, and allow the program to create and save back ups in a new (different) folder.
Trying to figure out what caused your issue can be time consuming or impossible. When you upgrade the product from a previous version, you should only need the installer for the current version you are upgrading to, and the serial numbers from the previous and current version you are installing. In a perfect world all upgrades would go smoothly, but this isn't always the case.
If the go flex has any 3rd party software that protects or monitors the data being stored on the disk, this too can cause an "exclusive access error".

I have the same issue and it is driving me crazy... 3 home PCs that used to back up with no issue, entirely in the background (as intended) to my home NAS under TI2014 now succeed about 25-30% of the time with this "upgrade" to TI2016, each time complaining about the inability to "exclusively access" files that only TIH is accesing. Wish I had a fix, but I'm convinced that fixing this will require dumping TIH. TIH developers: this needs to be fixed, or the code made more adaptable. It leaves your customers with a long string of unusable backups, as I recently found out when I tried to restore a corrupted HDD.
