Cannot I not create the 'Create Full Backup after 'n' Differential Backup' scheme in ABR 11?

Thread needs solution

Hi Everybody

I was intending to use the TIH edition to create the 'Create Full Backup after 'n' Differential Backup' custom backup scheme. However, given that it doesn't support the command reference, I am considering using the ABR11 version. However, it appears that I cannot create the custom backup scheme as shown above in ABR11.

Could someone please confirm if I can or cannot create the above mentioned backup schemen using ABR 11?

Further, assuming that I can and given that it supports the command reference, can the script file containing the commands for the defined backup scheme be run as a DOS batch file, that is, as a .bat file?

Best regards

Explicitly - there is no such option. If tour backup schedule is more or less regular, you may use custom scheme and set up schedule of full backups to the preferred frequency (e.g. on specific days of months). If the schedule is chaotic ( e.g. like on windows event, on user logoff) you have to use simplified naming, pre-backup command to rename the existing chain to something different, and after that incremental backup task will, lacking the base, create the full.

hi dev-anon

It is a custom scheme, I didn't create this scheme. Its available as a stndard custom scheme in TIH. I'd have it would also be available in ABR11,

All i am looking for is to ba able to do a daily differential backup with full backup after every 6 diff without scheduling - tobe run manually. I want to create this though using command line so that I can encapsulate these commands in a DOS batch file.

Can't someting as basic as this be done in ABR?
