cannot mount cloned drive as slave

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis True Image Home for about a year now for cloning my system drive with no problems till about a month ago.
I clone my system drive from time to time when I make major changes to my set up. The clones work OK.
However, now if I take my clone and mount it as either a slave on my IDE cable or an external drive so I can re-do the clone it does not show up. Appears to be some conflict. If I switch it off, it briefy shows in the drive listing.
It used to work OK
Any ideas?

I would use the TrueImage Add disk option and remove any partitions so the space is unallocated before attempting a new clone.

Don't forget, after the cloning, you want only the clone to be connected to your motherboard. You do not want Windows seeing two identical drives on the first boot following cloning.

You might also check that the drive has a drive letter assigned; plus check that the drive is being seen in the BIOS.

Hi, It sounds like the driver failed. Uninstall driver through device manager and disconnect USB. Reboot computer and reconnect the USB. Driver will reinstall automatically.
