Cannot Mount TI2010 Image

Thread needs solution

I'm unable to mount a TI 2010 (7160) image on one of my XP Home computers. Get the usual 'Cannot assign a drive letter...' error msg. The image mounts fine on my other XP Home computer. I have uninstalled TI 2010 (with Revo) and re-installed several times to no effect. Have scoured the many threads about this on the forum and tried everything suggested - again to no effect. I need to mount the drives as I want to transfer all my programs to a new W7 installation from my XP installation using PC Mover Image; re-installing all my dev and other programs is just not practicable time wise. Any new ideas - or fixes from Acronis?

When mounting, try to mount only one partition. I would also check the disk for errors.

One option you can use is the Explore option. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the backup file (*.tib).
Right click on the file and choose the Explore option. This opens an Explorer view of your backup and enables you to browse to the folder and files you need. From there, you can copy and drag files or folders into a new location.

It might be a good safety precaution to perform a full disk backup (all partitions) of your Windows 7 installation before begin the mix from XP.

You can also use the REstore feature and restore selected files and folder.

Tried that with every partition - still doesn't work.

That - and Restore - works of course but, as I explained, I need to actually mount all the partitions so that I can use PcMoverImage to transfer all my programs to a new W7 OS; transferring individual program files is no good because, as you will be aware, most programs use extensive registry entries. PcMoverImage from Laplink handles transferring all programs' files together with all their appropriate registry entries.

I need mounting to work.
