Cannot resize partition during clone

Thread needs solution

Hello!!

I have been able to succesfully clone a 128GB drive to a 275GB drive. I selected proportional partition as the clone option, but I have around 135GB unallocated space. So I tried to clone again and selected manual partition option, but there is no way to change the partition size. I want my c: drive to be the full size of my new drive.

Edward:

You're on the right track but there are a few more steps to finish.

1. There is a recovery partition at the end of your disk (the third one in the list) that is 113.5 GB in size. If you are sure that you don't want this partition, then delete it from your source disk before cloning. Then try again.
2. If you do want to keep the recovery partition then you should shrink it to minimum size during the clone and expand the Windows partition to maximum size. To do this, continue with the next steps.
3. Double-click on the rightmost partition in the graphic at the bottom of the "Change Disk Layout" window, the one shown in your attachment. In the window that opens, drag the slider on the graphic representing the partition by grabbing the left slider and moving it to the right until the partition is much smaller. You can see the used space as a darker blue color. The objective is to move this partition to the right so that it is at the extreme end of the disk and is only slightly larger than the used space. When done, click "Accept" to close this window.
4. Double-click on the middle partition graphic labeled "Boot Drive (C:)". Drag the right slider to the right until the Windows partition is as large as possible. Click "Accept".
5. Click "Next" to see the proposed layout of your clone. If acceptable, choose "Proceed".

That did the trick! I was changing the size of the recovery partition by movieng the slider to the left which caused another partition to be created.

Great! Thanks for posting back.
