Cannot restore network archive

I am trying to do a disk recovery from a network archive.
I boot with a boot CD created from the same build that created the archive (True Imgae Home 2010, Buld 7046).
With the boot media, trying to restore a network disk archive reports "Cannot open backup archive on the specified device:Either there is no archive on it or the archive is corrupted."
The archive has been validated and can be restored from Acronis when running under Windows, but not from the boot media.
It is possible to browse the network drive and archives from the boot media, but all archives report as above or with "Cannot detect volume 1 of <> archive".
Please help!
