Cannot start TI2010 form Boot CD - a very bad support from Acronis
I bought beginning of this year a Dell-Notebook Studio 1558 (Mainboard Dell 0NJWJR) with Windows 7. As I do on several PC’s I tried to start Acronis True Image 2010 from a Recovery CD. The Isolinux started, I see the main menu, and then I started True Image. After some seconds True Image ends without any operation and Windows begins to boot.
I sent a message to Acronis support at 31.03.2010. They ask me to send some further information about the PC, to send some files. So I did. They sent me several new ISO-Files to create a boot-CD and test it. From April to May I got and sent a lot of mails. All this measures were without any success. I’m not very sure, whether the support has understood my problem. After some weeks they asked the same questions and I sent the same information- and logfiles.
Meanwhile I tried to boot an old version (True Image 11), this version started. I sent this information to the support, but I heard nothing from the Acronis support since beginning of May. All my mails got no response.
Now, end of July, I got a mail from support, that up to now they have no solution for my problem and recommend to use Bart-PE (for Windows 7?? - I read, it's useful for WIN XP).
I’m very disappointed from this kind of support. It seems to me, that Acronis has ended its development regarding TrueImage, as they did with DiskDirector last year.
I think about to stop using Acronis True Image for backup and recovery. Windows 7 itself offers a better solution to start the system from a recovery CD and restore the system and data.

Hello Anton,
meanwhile I got the new ISO-File, burned a CD and booted the Dell-PC. TI runs without any problems. I tried to backup a partition successfully. I didn't try to recover, but I assume, that it will work.
Thank you for your support.
