Cannot uninstall older version of Acronis Home
System is Win 7 64 bit
I have had Acronis Home 2009 on my system since 2009. I had bought a copy of Home 2012 a couple of months ago and decided to finally install it to replace the 2009 version.
I downloaded the latest version of 2012 and started the install. I did not uninstall the 2009 version first. The install ran for a little while and then the system blue-screened and rebooted. When the system rebooted, it complained that one of the modules of Acronis was bad but continued to reboot.
I then tried to install 2012 again. The install ran but then "backed out" of the install and gave an error.
I then went to the windows uninstall and tried to uninstall the 2009 version. The uninstall ran to completion, but did not really unstall. 2009 still was show as installed.
Next I tried to re-install 2009. The install started and then gave me a install, repair, and uninstall. Each one gives me a "install was interrupted" error and ask me to run the install again.
So how do I get the 2009 version to go away so that I can install the later version?

I had same problem of not being able to get rid of traces of True Image 2009 so I could install 2017. Followed the above but still could not after repeated attempts.
What finally did it was after reading another post I also tried the Microsoft Fix-it tool (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-tha…) and in combination to the above I finally was able to install my newer version.
