Cannot update True Image Home 2011
I have installed build 5105, and the automatic update fails due to the updater bug discussed elsewhere in this forum. I have tried manually downloading and running the installer for both builds 5519 & 6597, but get "The installation was interrupted..." in both cases. See attached error messages.
Also, Acronis won't validate the full hard drive image backup. When the "time left" runs down to zero, it re-starts itself at a ridiculously high number (some thousands of days) and continues counting down. I've let it run for an afternoon and it still doesn't validate.
Installed on Windows XP, on a separate partition (D: drive) from the OS (on C:). I'm running everything from the Administrator account -- no one else uses this computer, and I have no other logins.
The software hasn't worked since I purchased it in November... I'm beginning to wonder what the hell my $70 paid for.

Do you have a prior backup which you can restore? If yes, restore and then do an uninstall and then use the 2011 cleanup tool.
If you have no prior backups, then Try using the 2011 cleanup tool.
Your best operating results wil be if TrueImage is installed on your drive C. It may not be what you want to do but Acronis will work better if you install on C.
If none of this is possible, maybe there are some registry edits needed. Let's see what progress the above can do.

Removed, cleaned up, and installed on C:. The hard drive image back-up still won't validate. And now the email back-up won't complete. I've tried stopping and restarting the back-up, deleting and re-creating the backup profile, and rebooting the computer, several times. I let the email backup run *overnight* last night, and it remained at 34% complete with a minute to go the entire night. I've rebooted and am attempting to run it again now, but it remains stuck at 34% complete, and while it's not a minute to go, anymore, the "time remaining" continually creeps upward instead of downward.
At this point, unless there is a really easy five minute fix, I'm more interested in getting a refund. I don't have time to spend hours and hours to get some simple software to work, and it's ridiculous that it's still not working after almost 3 months.
