Can't Add Public Documents to NonStop Backup
Ok...I've done quite a bit of searching on this forum, and have come up dry, so here's my problem:
I just recently installed TIH 2011 (latest build) and I used the one click backup option to create a disk image and a file backup of my personal data. I realize that this creates a full system image and a non-stop backup task for my "personal" data under C:/Users/myuname. However, when I go to edit the backup settings for the non-stop backup, I can clearly see that other user folders and the public folders are selected to be backed up. However, they are clearly not being backed up when I explore the actual backup files. It seems that the only way to add a file outside of the C:/Users/myuname spectrum is to locate each individual file in Windows Explorer and right click >> "Include in Non-Stop Backup". This just seems ludicrous and painstaking! Please advise.

Benjamin,
If there is no reply, it is probably because nobody has an answer available. I didn't test Non-Stop Backup with the latest build. I know, however, that there is some folder selection issue with 6696 and 6857, both for file backup and Non-Stop Backup.
I didn't test for your specific symptom. Do you see the same issue when you set up a file backup independently?
Also, now that you have your basic one-click set up:
- verify that your disk and partition backup includes *all* the partitions of your system disk. This backup is the one you need if you need to replace your hard disk, or if you Windows installation is seriously compromised.
- make sure you have produced an Acronis Bootable Recovery Media, and that you test it by booting your computer on it.
- it is likely that your personal data is already included in your disk and partition backup. For example, if you data is in the C:\users\usernameA\ folder, you are OK. In this case, the file backup and/or a non-stop backup of C:\ is redundant. Redundancy of backup is good if, necessarily, (a) you don't use the same backup disk, and, preferably, (b) you don't use the same program/technology.

Thanks! I'll try to set up a test backup later to verify that it is only happening in the one-click setup. Is there any documentation on the issues that 6696 and 6857 are having? I am currently using build 6857 on Win7(64), so any info on the issues of this build would be helpful.

There is no such documentation. I have been keeping my own list and all issues I had with of 6597 were fixed with 6857 but 2 key ones (a) issue with deleting versions of a backup chains, (b) issue with folder selection, in particular the desktop folder, in file backup and non-stop backup. This is not an official list and I don't think there is an official list...
I will do some testing as well tonight on your particular issue.

I tested your situation and I found the same issue as for the file backup.
When you click on backup my critical data, the non-stop backup that is created selects the entire drive by default becauce of an issue with selecting the c:\users\XYZ\Desktop folder.
With the latest build, it is impossible to include this folder without including everything on the disk.
I set up the one-click thing and then immediately cancelled it. I restarted ATI because the UI was stuck upon cancellation. After the restart, I was able to customize the selection for the NSB; I unchecked desktop and selected the other folders including the public folders. These folders then got correctly backed up by the NSB.
