Can't backup to Network storage
Hi there
I'm having issues backing up to my asustor as-604T. I have latest updates for both windows, Asustor nas and acronis. Using windows 8.1 pro. I tried backing up from another pc using windows 7 and it works flawlessly. This is on a completely new os install on ssd. Could it be that I use Uefi boot mode? The error I'm getting is that the backup file is in use. Backing up to local storage works fine but to the NAS it doesn't work. I rebooted the system and by only running acronis nothing else it still doesn't work. I made sure credentials is correct using credential manager to manually force credentials to the nas. Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Pieter,
Can you see the NAS SMB shares on the Windows network using your computer? If yes, can you see them using ATI under network? If yes, this is what you have to do. Trying to see a NAS under "Nas Connections" in ATI is useless.

all the network stores are mounted and I can double click the backups on the network store and they get mounted just fine.
but if you try to back up to a network store, it says:
"File in Use" and there is a big red X.
The problem started when I updated to the latest release. I've NEVER had this problem before.
So the solution is that you can now only backup to a local disk or pay $20 to find out if there is a fix.
I'm LIVID. This product is EXTREMELY BUGGY. I'll never buy from acronis again.

Sorry it says "Access to the file or folder is denied"
and I tried rebooting.
I have no clue what file or folder is denied because ***they do NOT tell you what file was denied.***
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To solve the problem you simply create a new backup using "Add backup" and it works.
I'd guess acronis creates a lock file for the file with the backup instructions and locks that so even if you reboot the file is still locked.
so you now have to make new backup instructions each time.
