Cant clean up cloud storage

I have an old sync folder in my cloud storage which I cannot delete.

I have deleted all the files it contains and it now states 'folder empty'. However there is no option to delete the containing folder and it states it occupies 45GB (even though it is empty!).

How can I get rid of it completely?

Same question - I am using only local network sync (and really like that feature). So how do I get rid of the old, empty cloud sync, and the distracting "Sync Failed" message from my Synch screen.

The instructions are: go to gear icon and select "Delete". But there is no Delete option for the cloud sync.

The answers in Forum traffic, going back a couple years is effectively: "You can't do it." This can't be right. This glaring problem needs to be fixed.
