Cant clone hard drive
I have acronis true image 2009 I bought recently I tried the trial version and successfully cloned my drive to another drive.
Then I activated the program with my serial number and tried to clone again and got this error which I have seen elswhere on this forum.
I also have on this computer Seagate Discwizard which has the Acronis Clone facility, but I cannot use as I dont have a seagate drive. I bought Acronis as I liked very much how Discwizard worked.

Below is a solution I found but for a different problem. Is it the same solution?
- Download the http://www.acronis.com/files/support/schedmgr.exe file ;
- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:
schedmgr task zap
schedmgr service stop
schedmgr service uninstall
schedmgr service install
schedmgr service start
This should delete all the scheduled tasks on the PC. You should manage your scheduled tasks from the scratch.
Also make sure that Acronis Scheduler2 Service (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services) Startup Type is set to Automatic. Otherwise set it to Automatic yourself and reboot your computer

I downloaded the scheduler and ran the batch file. Rebooted and tried clone again with same error message. I must say the batch file didnt seem to run very long.
Although I have had experience with PC-Dos files and creating batch files in DOS which are very similar to command prompt, I could not run the commands as they were not recognized commands. It specifies I run in the same folder in which saved but I could not get into that folder (c\users\Stanley Lofsky\downloads\

If you prefer to use Discwizard check this link on the Seagate forum:

Thanks. Actually had a new Western Digital Drive and WDE had an Acronis clone utility. When I tried to use it, got the message that my trial period had expired! I guess the resident full package Acronis imposed that on WD disc clone facility. Ended up uninstalling both and then reinstalling WD acronis which worked flawlessly to clone my drive. I use clone programs to create a Hard Drive ready to take over, should there be a failure. i thought Acronis would be better than Ghost but it seems to have the same unexplainable fatal flaws. Free is better than not free when it works.
This time I wanted to install Win 7 over Vista, and thought I would do it on a cloned drive and if I didnt like it would just revert back to the original Vista drive.
