Can't create boot media

Thread needs solution

When I try to create a boot DVD or CD disk, Acronis gives the error message
Device is Busy 0X40010. If I let Acronis close the disk drive to create the boot disk, I get the error No Empty media is found. I'm trying to use a blank formatted DVD disk. I also tried using a blank formatted CD disk.

John,

With 2011 you can create an ISO instead of burning directly to the CD, did you try this?

If you have registered your software, you can also donwload a bootable ISO from your account on Acronis.com if you have v11, 2010 or 2011. You then just need to burn that ISO with 3rd party software like imgburn.

Alternatively, maybe you can try to use a USB flash drive as your target medium.

This is probably an instance of your burning software reserving the cd drive as soon as the loaded drawer is closed.
The answer is to put your bank media in the tray and leave it OPEN. The Acronis software will close the drawer automatically when it is ready to do the burn. Easy when you know :-)

The next step is to use the Create bootable media function and create an iso file from the installed version. After the iso file is created, then use your burn software to create a CD from the iso file.
