Can't create bootable media
I am trying to help someone that just installed (NOTE: from a CD) True Image 2014 (build 5017) on an IBM ThinkPad with Windows XP SP3, Pentium 1.3 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM. The program seems to have installed OK, but we cannot get it to create a bootable media CD.
Here is the sequence used:
Click on Backup and Recovery
In the Acronis Media Builder, select True Image in the Contents Selection, then click on Next
The Bootable Media Options window is displayed, but nothing is entered, then click on Next
In the Media Type Selection, click on ISO image (only choice available), then click on Next
Insert disk window is displayed. Disk inserted (CD-R, 2 different brands used, neither works. Both verified to be blank)
Click on Next
The Destination File Selection Windows is displayed ("select an existing ISO file or create new file")
We can't get past this step. An error window is displayed with the title "Disk is not formatted"
The error message in that window is:
"Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted or it is not compatible with Windows."
As noted above, 2 different CD-R brands used, both verified to be blank.
What's wrong here? How do we get the "bootable media" disk created? I searched this forum without success.

OK, I read your reply and connected to the link you recommended.
There is (at least) one issue that I don't understand. I have True Image 11 installed on a Win 7/Pro laptop, and in the Acronis Media Builder, when I reach the Media Type Selection window, I see 2 choices:
1. My optical drive
2. ISO image
In the Acronis 2014 version, I do not see the optical drive choice. Nor do I see either the internal or external hard drive (to save the iso). If I just click on the iso choice, I get the "Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted or it is not compatible with Windows." error message.
So . . . there must be some other problem. Any ideas?

OK. Do this.
Log into your Acronis website account and look at the download files available for 2014.
One of them will be an ISO file (or a bootable media file).
Download this ISO file onto a Win7 machine.
Have a blank CD available in your CD tray.
Once downloaded, RIGHT click on the iso file and choose the "OPEN WITH" option and select the Windows Disk Image burner as the progam and it will burn the iso onto your blank CD.
Once the burn complete, you now have an alternate 2014 TI Recovery CD which will be identical to one you would burn from a normal "create bootable media" from your own installation.
Link 9 below can point you to the download files if help needed.

ISO did not work.
We got the product registered and downloaded the iso. We then burned the iso to a CD, following your instructions. We placed the CD in the the XP computer, attached the external hd with the backup and turned on the computer. We selected CD from the boot list.
It looked like this was going to work, we saw "starting Acronis loader" after selecting True Image 2014 from the menu.
However, after some time, the following error message was displayed:
"This kernel requires the following features not present in the CPU: pae
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU"
So . . . what's next?

The processor is a Pentium M 1300 MHz.
From the Device Manager:
x86_FAMILY_6_MODEL_9\_0

Hello Mike, Grover,
Grover, thank you for helping!
Mike, the error message you received while booting from downloaded .iso means that your processor is relatively old and doesn't support PAE.
All current Acronis Linux media require this function.
As a workaround you can create WinPE bootable media and I've also sent you some additional suggestions in private message. Please check your inbox.
Thank you.
