Can't Create Secure Zone in True Image 10
I have the latest build of an older version of Acronis True Image. Specifically, I am using True Image 10 on a machine running XP SP3.
I have been trying setup the Acronis Secure Zone. I go through the process, selecting the primary partition (there's only one partition on the drive), specifying the size of the partition, setting a password, and selecting the option to activate the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager. The system restarts and the partition gets created, and then the system restarts again. Everything looks good. I can see in Disk Management that a partition has been created.
When I start to configure a new backup job I see the Acronis Secure Zone as an option for the backup location, but when I select it and click Next I get the following:
*****
Acronis Secure Zone is not available. You can create it for storing your archives in a secure place inaccessible to the operating system.
Do you want to create Acronis Secure Zone now?"
*****
If I click Yes it simply takes me back through the same process again. If I click No it wants me to select a different backup location.
Upgrading is not an option at this time. How do I get this feature to work properly?
Thanks for any help that you can offer!

Thanks for the reply.
I've done a full un-install and re-install of the software more than once. Each time I have re-created the Acronis Secure Zone, and each time the software will see it as a backup location, but it is unavailable.
I've tried installing with different options (Default installation vs. full installation), and I've tried various options when creating the Acronis Secure Zone (Password vs. no password, etc.). I have even tried creating a separate partition through Windows and putting the Acronis Secure Zone on that partition. No matter what I try, the result is always the same--I can see the Acronis Secure Zone in Windows Disk Management, and in True Image as a back location, but it is unavailable to me.
Otherwise, the software works fine. I can use it to do a full system backup to another partition or drive without any problems.
As a test I installed the software on another computer running XP SP3, and I was able to get the Acronis Secure Zone to work on that machine.

I found the solution in another thread on this forum. Here's the link:

Basically, create a bootable rescue media (I had one from way back and I was able to use), boot using that media, and then create the Acronis Secure Zone from there. Worked for me the first time.
Thanks for the help!

Hello Thomas,
In this case I need some additional information to investigate the issue.
Could you please gather Acronis Report and attach it to your reply to this thread? This would provide me with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.

I don't think that it would really be relevant information now for two reasons. First, while I can see where this information might be helpful if I had not been able to get the Acronis Secure Zone created, the fact is that I have successfully created it now and that would seem to negate the value of looking at the partition structure. Second, since getting the secure zone created I have actually changed the partition structure, so what you would be looking at would not be representative of the partitions that existed when I was having the problem.
