Can't deactivate "previous installation"
Hi
I am using ATI2013. When I try to "Deactivate one of the previous installations" in the "Too many activations box", it takes me to a "Moving License" log on screen. My problem is it won't accept my log on. There is no error message of any kind. The fields just go blank. I use the same logon as my Acronis account. Any ideas?
HELP!

Thanks for your reply Colin.
Yes I tried that. The same "Move License" log on screen appeared, so I ended up with the same problem. I finally decided to pay for help. After three agents and a couple of days of working on this they were at a loss. The last agent stayed with me. He did some checking and found that the server used for activations and deactivation's had been down and was still down. He then came up with a work around and succeeded in fixing my problem. I resent having to pay for service when the fault is with Acronis. This activation/deactivation seems to be a real big problem with Acronis.
Well, thanks for letting me blow off some steam.

Hello Ron,
I will be glad to clear up the situation.
Colin, thank you for helping!
Ron, I see in our database, that your PPI wasn't marked as used. It means that you can use it later if needed.
According to our current support policy activation issues are handled even after 30-days support program expiration and PPI is not needed.
Such issues are considered as Customer Care and you can always contact support via chat or email selecting at the first step Customer Care - Product Activation Issues.
Let me know, if you have further questions.
Thank you.

Hi,
I'm using the same product; I bought 2 licences for a client.
I replaced one of the computers with a new one and installed one of the licenses on it. The copy of ATI was uninstalled from the old computer.
Now Acronis says there are too many activations and has stopped working. I can't un-activate the previous licence as the computer no longer exists. When I try to un-actvate on the new computer, it tries to uninstall the copy I need to work.
I hate product activation and this is the reason why. A client has paid for a product that no longer works. I've wasted more time on this than the cost of the product. People who buy legitimate products get penalised.
So, what is the procedure now?
Thanks,
Frank

Hi Frank,
It's a nightmare. Anna says you can get chat or email help free for activation problems.
Check out her reply above.
Good luck.

Thanks for your help Ron.
I can't get assistance from Acronis via that link as I don't have any products registered to me.
I'll have to do it from the client's offices next time I'm there.
If Acronis staff are reading this, how about automatic de-activation when the product is uninstalled? Kinda makes sense to me.
Thanks,
Frank

Hello Frank,
thank you for your suggestion regarding de-activation during uninstallation. I'm not sure, if it can be implemented, since we cannot guarantee that all computers will have internet connection during uninstallation. In any case I'll forward you idea to development team and it will be carefully considered.

It is not important, if the old computer (where Acronis license is no longer needed) exists or not. The only thing you need is access to the account at Acronis website, where license is registered. Please follow this guide to move your license to a new machine.
Let me know, if you have any additional questions.
Thank you.
