Can't install 2011 Plus Pack

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have the CD version of Acronis True Image 11 Home (build 8,101) installed (fresh) on a Windows XP computer with Admin rights.

I then purchased the Plus Pack version 11 from Acronis's digital download section. When I go to install it I get this error:

"Full version of Acronis True Image Home must be installed on your computer before you start the Plus Pack add-on installtion. You can purchase the full version of Acronis True Image Home at blah blah blah.com"

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and that didn't help. I don't see any KB or forum issues that relate.

Can someone please help?

Thanks! :)

You won't be able to install the plus pack for 2011 on a system that has TI11 installed. You need the v11 universal restore for that.

Thanks Colin.

That seems to not make any sense from what I read from the description before I purchased the plus pack:
"Acronis® True Image Home 2011 Plus Pack is an add-on module for Acronis True Image Home 2011"

Ahh, wait so there's an Acronis True Image 11 Home and then an Acronis True Image 2011 Home? I feel like I got swindled :(

Could you please link me to the v11 plus pack you are talking to?

Michael,

Is your TI v11 or 2011?

2011 is current, v11 is about 4 years old.

If you need v11 UR you'll need to contact sales, support or a moderator here to see if you can swap your 2011 PlusPack licence for a v11 UR and a link to download it.

You will also need to give them the build number of TI 11 as the UR/PP's are individual to each build.

Wow 4 years old! Seems like I just bought my copy of 11 and that's probably why I wasn't paying attention to the Home 2011 branding over the Home 11 branding.

I'm guessing they are on holiday till Tuesday and since I need to clone a XP install from one computer to another by tomorrow morning I bit the bullet and bought the Home 2011 upgrade. Hopefully this 'Restore to Dissimilar Hardware' of the Plus Pack works as advertised.

Anyway, thanks again Colin for pointing out my problem, I'd still be scanning the registry for possible reasons as to why I couldn't use the Plus Pack :)
