Hello all,

Thank you very much for posting. Grover, your help is really appreciated.

Matt, I will definitely resolve this issue for you.

After checking the log it appears that your user does not have enough permissions to install our software, here is a small excerpt from your log:

Please make sure that you are using an administrator account when installing the program. If you are using an administrator account, please send me a private message with this report so that I can continue working on the issue.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I have experienced exactly the same problems as described above.

As a brief scenario to the issue:

uninstalled ATI Build 6574 due to performance issues.

unable to re-install (Win7 x64), installer rolls-back at about 80% complete

used Acronis Delete Utility to clean system
(promising progress messages but no improvement)

tried to install ATI Build 6597 (Trial) - same result but log produced showing
same as above. My user account has full Admin privileges

Current position is no installed ATI and confidence waning

Did your create a partition when things were normal? If yes, consider restoring the backup and get back to normal.

Hello C Wills and Grover,

Thank you for your help Grover and C Wills, I will certainly assist you with resolving this issue.

Please provide me with an .msi log and AcronisInfo report so that I can have some diagnostic information about this installation failure.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hello C Wills,

Thank you for replying.

According to the installation log file, it appears that you do not have enough permissions to install the software. The error in the log is similar to Matt's error in the above post. Please try logging in as an administrator and retry the installation.

Also, you can check that the following registry keys have full permissions:

# HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Control Panel\Cpls
This contains the string format locations of all .cpl files on the hard drive used within the control panel.
# HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\ControlPanel\Namespace

You can check this Microsoft article for additional information.

Please let me know if you need additional assistance.

Thank you.

Anton,

My user account has full Admin rights and is entitled to perform full installations,
this is the normal situation for Win 7, logging on as Administrator is not an
available option. The install program was "run as Administrator" with all
ancilliary security systems switched off.

I changed the permissions on the Registry keys you specified in your most recent
response.

Trying to re-install the package resulted in exactly the same condition, I suspect
the previous un-install and tidy up processes have left an erroneous condition that
is causing the installation to fail.
This is beginning to get critical
