solved the problem using Windows Install Clean Up then reinstall then uninstall and then i deleted all acronis sys files from drivers directory.

let's hope next version would have windows 7 compatible drivers.

actually it's not solved i need a cleaner tool to clean this problem from my computer tool that works in windows 7.

10x in advance.

update:

i'v managed to remove everyting manually except tdrpm228.sys if i delete this next restart i get bsod.

What didn't work for you  in W7?

It might have a bearing on your difficulty uninstalling TI.

i'v noticed that the drivers in verifier are made for older os versions so i'v decided to uninstall the software and then detected that the uninstller doesn't work so i'v searched around found Windows Install Clean Up deleted the software from there and then reinstalled the software and then uninstalled it but i'v detected that it doesn't remove the drivers so i'v remoed them manually using this guide:

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=376168&postcount=13

and now everything is fine except  tdrpm228.sys that is still there and does not appear in the guide and the problem is that if i delete this then i get bsod next time i restart the computer and also i have a strange process in services acrsch2svc which doesn't have any path so i assume it acronis service any way what i need is a way to remove  tdrpm228.sys from my computer without bsod and i'm hopping that next acronis version would have compatible drivers for windows 7.

10 in advance for all your help.:)

p.s i'v deleted the service acrsch2svc using sc delete acrsch2svc command but i still don't know what to do with tdrpm228.sys.

tdrpm2228.sys is a try and decide program. Whichever uninstall you did was not good enough. REVOUNINSTALLER i said ???!!!!!

If you have enabled T&D or created an SZ for T&D, just check that these have been disabled and the SZ partiton reallocated before deleting the sys file. You might need to remove it in Windows Safe mode.

Hello all,

Please accept our profound apologies for the delay with the response and for the inconvenience.

If you are still unable to uninstall Acronis True Image Home from Windows 7, we've updated our Clean-Up utility and now it's run fine with that OS.

Acronis Clean-Up Utility uses two additional components. Please makes sure that the following components are downloaded and installed in the system:

  • DevCon - command-line utility that is an alternative to the Windows Device Manager. This utility is required to remove Acronis traces from Device Manager. DevCon is included in Windows Vista by default. Read more in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 311272.

If there is no DevCon in the system, you can download it from Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 311272, and place it in Windows\system32. Or you can just run Acronis Clean Up Utility, and it will offer to remove Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer manually using the steps described in the article Removing Acronis Backup Archive Explorer .

  • Msizap.exe - command-line utility that performs cleanup operations on the Windows Installer configuration management information. Msizap.exe is a part of Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. This utility is used to remove Acronis True Image Home 2010 configuration information from the system.

If there is no Msizap.exe, then Acronis Clean Up Utility will offer to download Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from the Microsoft website.

  1. After the required components are installed, please download Acronis Clean Up Utility, unpack and run it;
  2. Please choose to delete all Acronis products from the system;
  3. You will be asked to close Windows Explorer instances since this is necessary to remove the tishell.dll and timounter.dll Acronis files, which interact with explorer.exe;
  4. You will be also asked to reboot the system to complete the uninstallation. You can reboot the system later.

Thank you.

CAUTION DO NOT RUN THE ACRONIS CLEANUP UTILITY unless you have a full image of your OS !

Ilya,

I'm attempting to remove all Acronis products because DD 2010 won't run or uninstall on Windows 7.

Windows Installer Cleanup Utility has been removed from the Microsoft site because it has been found to cause problems.
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_prog…

Furthermore even if it was still available, the Acronis Cleanup Utility points to the wrong page when I request to download the utility.

Add to that:
Finding the utility from a 3rd party site is like wading through a swamp of junkware / malware.
You need to find a working version of the utility and provide it with a simple ( non cryptic ) link to a direct download that you host on this site. ( as opposed to the cryptic chaotic type of links, and random code chaos that you have in your post above ) You also need to fix the Acronis Cleanup Utility to point to that link and you should remove it from public access until it is repaired. It made Win7 unbootable 3 times for me.

More ideally, fix the Acronis utility so that it has everything it needs to work and works without making us jump through complicated steps that are really unnecessary, i.e. if you'd write a good removal tool.

Continuing:
pressing Y to uninstall all Acronis products seems to result in success until I restart my PC at which time I discover that
Windows 7 will no longer boot.

Error message is:

"The boot section failed because a required device is inaccessable"

Recovering the MBR ( alone ) does not fix the problem. Windows 7 still will not boot giving the same error message.

Recovering the MBR and the image of the OS works fine, since I have TI 2010 running off of a USB stick, but of course I'm still stuck with DD 2010 on the recovered OS

Pleas provide a solution that is simple and concise for removing all Acronis products.
The 3rd party solutions you've noted no longer exist.
Your removal tool is non functional and also destroys Win 7, at least on my machine.

Thank you!

Steve

Steve,

This sounds like the snapapi driver hasn't been removed from registry.

Are you able to boot into Windows SAFE mode? Press F8 just after the PC's POST routine has finished.

Hi Colin,

Yes, I can get into SAFE mode but of course this is after restoring my image.
The only option after running the Acronis removal tool, ( other than restoring my image ) seemed to be to repair Win7 by inserting the DVD. I restored my image.

Anyway, I opted to buy the upgrade DD 11 and installing that cured one problem.
DD 2010 is no longer present.
My main mission with all of this is to get the OS Selector running on Win 7 to be able to dual boot Win7 and XP.
So, OSS now works with DD 11,
however
DD 11 also can't be uninstalled in Windows 7 on my machine.
Preparing to remove just spins for a while, then goes away, and the program is still there.

It just fails to uninstall. I've tried it 6 times and after reboots and also after disabling and uninstalling OSS. (In SAFE mode the Windows Installer won't run, so ...)

Has anyone else had success uninstalling DD 11 from Windows 7 32bit Home Premium?

Steve

Steve,

Try running the DD11 installer again, and select the repair option. I can't recall if DD11 automatically makes an MSI install log or if it has to be done seperately, but if the above doesn't do the job this might be the next step.

Is it just DD11 that you have on the machine or TIH201x as well?

Hi Colin,

Ti2010 media builder is all that's installed. I removed it first, earlier, when trying to uninstall, but it's back in there since I restored my image.

The DD11 installer has a remove option. Choosing that just hangs and also trying to cancel it after a few minutes just hangs also. Task Manager makes it possible to close the program.

The Repair Option gets everything back to where it was initially with a shortcut on the desktop.
Then:
Using Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall produces the same result as noted before. The program can't be uninstalled.

Trying one more time using the DD11 installer and then choosing "Remove".
Please wait: ( 3:22 PM )
No disk activity light: ( 3:23 PM )
3:27 PM ... still no disk activity light. Hit Cancel. No results other than the "Are you sure..."
No disk activity light. Program is still open.
Killed OS Selector setup with task manager and the program window can now be closed.

Both DD11 and OSS are still installed and able to be run.

=============
Uninstall Ti Home 2010 using "Uninstall or change a program" It needs permission 2 times before it will continue.
It's gone.

Run DD11 installer and choose "Remove"
Please Wait: 3:33 PM
OS Selector allows me to choose the OS I want to boot ( later ) Look for that popping up behind all else ... it's not obvious and one can't continue until making a choice.
It's removed: 3:35 PM
Reboot ....
OSS sucessfully removed ... press to reboot ...
Reboot ...
"Welcome"
OSS shortcut is still there. Minor manual cleanup.

OK!

I now know the drill.
Thanks Colin!

Now I'm going to restore my image and see if I can dual boot Win7 and XP.
