Can't uninstall TI 2009
I am trying to completely uninstall TI 2009 (build 9796) from my computer. I have run the utility that Acronis provides, and I also went through the instructions to manually uninstall the program. When I do a search on my computer, no Acronis product shows up.
However, when I re-start my computer, I still get that screen that says "Press F11 for Acronis Startup..." How do I get rid of that? I want this product off my system completely.

I had nearly the same problem today. I never made use of the Recovery manager. I tried to use the special tools to no avail. Finally I ran a repair re-install. I then removed the secure zone via the program. Rebooted and then the Add/Remove from the Control panel worked perfectly.

Hello all,
Thank you for using Acronis Products
In order to solve the issue you faced with you should have repaired MBR. To repair MBR of the hard disk using one of the following methods:
Windows 95/98/Me – boot from Startup Disk (floppy) and run "fdisk /mbr" command;
Windows 2000/XP/2003 – boot from Installation Disc (CD) into Recovery Console and run "fixmbr" command.
(Windows XP, Windows 95/98/ME)
If you experience problems using the above solution, then please download special Acronis utility from http://download.acronis.com/support/mbrautowrite_en.exe. Use it to create a floppy and boot the machine from the floppy.
If you prefer to a fix MBR using a CD, then please download special Acronis utility from http://download.acronis.com/support/mbrautowrite_en.iso. Use it to create a CD and boot the machine from the CD.
The MBR will be rewritten once you boot the computer from the created media and confirm that you want to fix the MBR.

I see no mention of Vista. What to do with this problem on a Vista machine?

Hello Nick,
Thank you for using Acronis Products
You should repair Vista Boot Configuration Data in the following way:
1. Put the Windows Vista installation disc in the CD\DVD disc drive, and then (re)start the computer;
2. Press a key when you are prompted;
3. Select language, time, currency, keyboard or input method, and then click Next;
4. Click Repair your computer;
5. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next;
6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box click Command Prompt;
7. Type the following:
Bootrec.exe /FixMbr
Bootrec.exe /FixBoot
If you want to completely rebuild Boot Configuration Data, then you should issue the following command:
Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd
This command scans all disks for installations that are compatible with Windows Vista. Additionally, this option lets you select the installations that you want to add to the Boot Configuration Data store.

Hi All,
I'm trying to remove Acronis TI Home 2009 (build 12.0.9809) to get a clean install of TI Home 2010. -Both upgrades.
I've Been down almost all of the tracks posted to remove it as follows;
Un-install from Add& Remove Progs, this seems to remove it until you reboot and it's still sitting there in Add&Remove etc..
Acronis cleaner -with and without MSCleanup -in dos. This produced a rolling restart at boot until I chose 'Best Known windows that worked'
I fixed this by re-iinstalling the MBR but TI2009 is still in Add& Remove Progs.
Any ideas would be welcome
Thanks everyone

Are you sure that the Acronis cleaner used was the one for 2009?
There is a problem with the Microsoft dev utility, which is why Microsoft have now withdrawn it from the download site and Acronis withdrawn the link.

Hi David,
I'm not exactly clear on your issue? You can't uninstall because of Control panel integration, you have ASZ installed, or??? Downgrading would not be recommended.
There were some major architectural changes made between these versions. Downgrading/upgrading may prove challenging. Please ensure you completely remove either version before trying to upgrade/downgrade your installed application.

To add to shadowsports reply, try reinstalling 2009 again, this should put the correct registry options back allowing the uninstaller to run.
