Change Backup method

Thread needs solution

I have installed and am using Acronis True Image 2014 with backup set for "Incremental" backups. It seems to be backing up fine, but every week a new file is created and none of the old ones seem to be going away. What settings do I have to change to limit the number of backup files? Preferably I would like to have a full backup every 2 or three months and incremental files every week. After the second full backup, I would like the system to automatically delete the previous old backups. Can you help??

Stop using the old task and create a new backup task using a new name and a new storagte folder or subfolder.

Set the scheduler to weekly and click one of the days on which you want the backup to occur.

Use the GH12 below as an example except set your backup scheme settings to
Full plus 7 incrementals
Store no more than 2 recent version chains.
This setting will keep 2 chains of 8 files (full +7 inc) per chain or 16 tib backups.
Automatic deletion will occur after the 3rd full (backup #17) and deletion of oldest chain (8 files) will auto occur after each full thereafter.

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme.
6 Inc, Keep 4 chains. The 6-4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs.
