Change password for user

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I run my scheduled backups using a certain user (with, naturally, a certain password). Now I had to change the password for this user (in windows 10), but I don't find the place to change this password accordingly in my backup tasks. As a result, the backups fail so far, because they can't log in properly.

Can someone help?

Thorsten

Thorsten, please see KB 58004: Acronis True Image 2016: Troubleshooting Issues Related to NAS Credentials - assuming that your backups are going to a NAS and it is that user that has been changed?

The alternative, would be to use the option to 'Clone settings' for the scheduled backup task, which will create a duplicate task with the same name but prefixed by (1) where you can then edit the task and provide the correct user credentials again.  If using this option, then either give the task a unique name or pick a new destination folder for the backups to avoid issues with any existing backup files for the original task.

No, I am not referring to NAS credentials. I am referring to the account which is invoked when the scheduled task is run (maybe we are talking about the same).

But I found out the solution: You have to change the name (!) of the backup task. If you do so, you are asked for the credentials I am talking about. Then you can change it back and everything works.

Really, this software is getting more and more weird from version to version...

Thorsten, glad that you have found a solution to your password question.
