Clarification about GPT drives in ATI 2011 and 2014
Thread needs solution
I've heard that for Acronis ATI to be able to access GPT formatted drives (drives greater than 2.2 terabytes) one needs to purchase something additional. But I'm not sure if that applies to the hdd *being backed up* or the *backup drive written to* (or both).
Here's my 2 situations:
A. Acronis True Image 2011 on a Windows 7 system:
standard mbr drive, being backed up *to* a usb external 3terabyte hdd formatted with gpt to use the entire 3TB.
B. Acronis True Image 2014 on a Windows 8.1 system, standard mbr drive, being backed up to a usb external 3 terabyte hdd formatted with gpt to use the entire drive.
Will these 2 Acronis versions work backing up *to* the gpt formatted external usb hd?
If not, what is needed?
Thank you.
