CLONE FAIL

Thread needs solution

I have ATI 2015 & I used a 32GB USB ZIP drive rescue disk to boot to Acronis in order to clone my 1 TB Western Digital C\ drive to another WD 1TB disk.  I’ve done this many times. I have 3 drives that I rotate monthly for protection. When I started the clone process, selected the source & target & proceeded after about 15sec  it just got to step 2 when it stopped with a  red “clone fail” message.”.  I booted the pc with the resident  C drive & looked at the target with DISK MANAGER I saw that all the 930 GB of data was listed as “Unallocated.” There was still a 1Gb recovery partition. Is the disk unusable?

Ronald, thank you for the clone log file, this shows that the message: Directory corrupted was posted early in the clone process, unfortunately this occurred after an earlier Clearing disk was actioned as you can see from the abbreviated log file.

I would recommend doing a CHKDSK C: /F /R for your source drive to ensure that any file system corruption is corrected before attempting the clone again.  The target drive for the clone operation should be fine, it has just been cleared as part of the operation before Acronis hit the directory corruption and failed to complete the clone successfully.
