Clone of harddrive under Win 7 64-bit
Hello,
Acronis True Image Home 2009 seems to be running on my new Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system. Yesterday I tried to clone the harddisk containing the Windows OS in order to upgrade to a larger harddisk. Windows 7 starts using the new harddisk but unfortunately the cloning was not 100% succesful, as with the new harddisk Win 7 boots extremely slow and also seems to be missing some OS services (e. g. Windows update). As far as I understand, there might be a problem with the 100MB starting partition generated by Windows 7.
Before I upgrade to Acronis True image Home 2011 I just wanted to know if the 2011 version is able to perfectly clone a Win 7 64-bit OS harddisk. Under XP and with the True Image 2009 version I just had to clone the harddisk, stop Windows, change harddisks and start XP again and all worked perfectly. Is this the same using TI2011 and Win 7 64-bit?

Hello,
it seems to be more a Windows 7 rather than a TI problem. I tried cloning using clonezilla as well and the same problem occured. And yes, the original harddisk was NOT mounted when trying to boot the cloned hdd. It might have something to do with the Windows activation?

I doubt it has anything to do with Windows activation.
Is the slow boot-up every time or just the first time?
Have you checked the Event Viewer to see if there are errors or warnings? If there are, what are they?
