Clone operation fails without any messages

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I've been using TrueImage for several years to clone a Windows 7 boot drive. When I tried yesterday, the process seemed to run normally and the PC rebooted via the Acronis Loader. After just a moment or two however, the PC re-booted into Windows. There was no indication of what went wrong.

Thinking that it might be a problem with the older 2013 version, I upgraded to the 2015 version.

The upgrade to the 2015 version was successful, but the problem persisted and the c-drive was not cloned.

I have attached a copy of the Acronis System Report for your review. Can you use this information to determine what went wrong?

Thanks,

Mike

Your report indicates you have a corrupted index of the disk (the partition size is about 900GB). Run chkdsk X: /R on every X: partition of your disk.

That said, this might not be the cause of your problem.

At any rate, run the chkdsk

Always do the clones from the recovery CD, not from Windows. This is much safer. We all know the product is designed to support starting cloning and restore operations from Windows... but these operations should be done from the recovery CD.
