Cloning disk with ATI2012. Error messages

I am using ATI2012 update 2.1 build 7133 with XP SP2.

I am trying to clone my system disk but after the Acronis Loader has started I get numerous error messages like "error: pdc: reading /device/sdf[Input/output error]". After leaving the pc running for hours the list of errors is very long.

Suggestions please to cure the problem.
