Cloning drive question in TrueImage

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I need to clone the hard drive in a Dell laptop and then take that cloned data and place it on a hard drive in a Panasonic laptop. Once moved, I need all of the programs that were working on the Dell laptop to be functional on the new laptop. Is this possible with this software? The Panasonic hard drive is larger than the one in the Dell.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You would need to add the Plus Pack to restore to dissimilar hardware, and you'd need to assemble all required drivers in .inf format for the new PC. You would perform a Universal Restore, assuming both PCs have the same version of Windows.

Thank you for the information. On another note, is this old PC (DELL) going to count as my single installation PC? I don't really want to waste this on an old beat up laptop.

Thanks again.

If you install it there, yes. Each licence is valid for one installation on one PC. You can, of course, move an installtion to a new PC and uninstall from the old one. You may also image that old drive (or clone it, if you must) using the bootable Rescue Media which requires no installation.

You will find you will probably have to move the activation licence to the new laptop.

Tuttle 5 seconds quicker than me :)
