Cloning the Hard Drive

Used a Drivewire Cloning Adpater and a program from Apricorn to clone my hard drive.
When I boot, I get a fatal error message when Acronis Loader runs saying it cannot recognize the partition and must hit a key to continue booting. Happens everytime I boot.
Reran the program uisng the 'no changes to the partition' option but the new drive comes out as 300 GB instead of 750 GB.
Anybody know how to resolve this issue and get it to clone properly and now get this error message? Thanks.
