Cloning Issue

Thread needs solution

I am attempting to clone a WD SATA 233GB drive to a Seagate SATA 466GB in my WinXP Pro PC. Both drives are connected to Motherboard. I am using the “Clone Disk” app from ATI Home 2010 PC Backup & Recovery. My problem is the cloning process “hangs” at the Operation 2 of 3 “Copying Partition” page with “Current Operation Progress” at 96% and “Total Progress” at 95%. What can I do to get this process to complete??

I completely share your concerns, and will be glad to assist you. Unfortunately due to the lack of information it is difficult to identify the cause, so we will need some additional information.

But before we get started with investigation I would like to suggest you a workaround: cloning from the Bootable Media built on alternative loader. In order to achieve it, please kindly follow these steps:

  1. Download the latest Bootable Media from your account

  2. Boot from it and perform the required actions for disk cloning
  3. Unplug one of the cloned disks and boot back into the OS

It is more preferable to clone the drives offsite, using the Bootable Media, though it's anyway up to you to decide how to perform this operation. Anyway I would appreciate if you could kindly keep us posted regarding the issue and let us know whether the suggested workaround suits you and helped to resolve the problem.
