Cloning killed my drives!
I tried to clone my C: drive (which I've done many times) today. Left machine to do its thing. Upon return, I rebooted and got a message that said,
error: no such device: 71278e5b-f14e-4944-b1cf-eedca9d7b6e3
Entering Rescue Mode...
grub rescue>
Don't know what to type after grub rescue> as system down and no help screen available. (on wife's system here). As stated, cloned these discs many times without problem. Only difference this time is I checked the check box to shut down system when done.
I tried using restore point. Nothing. Checked and found C: drive designation has been changes to D:
Need HELP as I need system back up ASAP!! Any help/suggestions appreciated

Yes. Ubuntu, which was installed after Windows 7. I got the problem corrected and all is back up working ok. I removed Ubuntu completely. However, my C: drive (OS & programs) is a 3/4 filled 1TB drive. I freshly formatted a 2TB drive in the same machine. I used Acronis TI 2014 to clone the C: drive to the new drive and it appears all went well. When it was done cloning I re-booted and tried the "new OS drive. It boots fine, but only shows what appears to be a new install of Windows 7. Shouldn't it be an exact copy of old C: drive (Desktop, programs, etc.)? Am I doing something wrong??
Sorry for delay in responding, system was down several days while I figured out how to correct original problem.
